OSWEGO – State Representative Mark Batinick (R-Plainfield) was excited to join administrators with Oswego Community Unit School District 308 as together they planned to provide the school district’s high school students with free Electrocardiogram heart screenings.
The health initiative will be achieved via Chicagoland’s very own Young Hearts 4 Life Program. The school district also received $1,000 from AT&T to help implement the health program.
Rep. Batinick stated, “It’s wonderful to see these school administrators, health providers, and AT&T come together to help save young lives. This work ensures that School District 308 students are not only receiving a quality education, but also a health assessment that ensures their own safety now and into young adulthood.”
Jeff Adducci, a community affairs manager with AT&T that attended the meeting, stated, “There are great non-profit organizations improving lives in Illinois. By supporting these organizations we’re strengthening the communities we serve.”
The free Electrocardiogram heart screenings will be implemented at Oswego East High School on Thursday, October 19th. Students must be registered with Young Hearts 4 Life at yh4l.org prior to screenings.
