Batinick Begins Third Term in Illinois House

SPRINGFIELD — State Representative Mark Batinick (R-Plainfield) was sworn into office today to serve the 97th Legislative District of Illinois in a ceremony held at the University of Illinois’ Springfield campus.Today marks the first day of the 101st General Assembly, and is Representative Batinick’s third term in office. Batinick’s 97th District includes portions of Oswego, Montgomery, Naperville, Plainfield, Bolingbrook, Joliet and Shorewood.

The Representative has already filed various pieces of legislation focused on some of Illinois’ biggest challenges. Rep. Batnick has been a fierce proponent of a balanced state budget, and his passion for righting Illinois’ fiscal condition will be the primary focus of his legislation this term. His legislative priorities include passing a balanced budget, finding a solution to the pension crisis, and bringing property tax relief to Illinois residents.

“As we enter this new General Assembly I am focused on the largest roadblocks to Illinois’ success as a State,” said Rep. Batinick. “It is important that we move forward together, and I am ready to work with my colleagues in the House to accomplish the great things our state and our residents deserve.”

The House of Representatives will commence legislative session tomorrow in Springfield.
