Representative Mark Batinick recently participated in a press conference to explain his opposition to Governor Pritzker’s graduated income tax proposal, and why it won’t help fix Illinois’ financial mess.
“This isn’t a long term plan,” said Rep. Batinick. “The plan is to raise taxes and short pension payments for seven years. The plan doesn’t even work a few years down the road.”
When asked what will help fix the problem, Batinick stated, “We need to address the fundamental and structural problems on the services our state is providing and the ways our economy is or is not growing.”
