PLAINFIELD—State Representative Mark Batinick (R-Plainfield) is hosting a Children’s Safety Expo on Saturday June 22nd. The event will be held from 9:00am-12:30pm at Plainfield Central High School, 24120 Fort Beggs Drive.
The event is free and open to the public. More than 50 state and local organizations will be on hand to provide information on the services they offer. They include government agencies, non-profits, local businesses, hospitals and many more. There will be several demonstrations starting at 9:15am with a show and tell presentation by Brookfield Zoo, and followed at 10:00am by Thrive Dance, 10:30am by Traveling World of Reptiles Show, and 11:45am by TM Martial Arts. The event will also include a Touch a Truck exhibit featuring construction and emergency vehicles as well as an appearance by an Air Methods LIFESTAR medical helicopter at 10:00am.
“We will have demonstrations, activities, and refreshments, plus a lot of good information on resources in our area and ways to keep kids safe and healthy,” said Batinick. “This event is great for the whole family and I am looking forward to meeting area residents there!”
