PLAINFIELD – State Representative Mark Batinick (R-Plainfield) is hosting a free self-defense class for women in his district. The seminar will be taught by the world-renowned educators at One-Light Self-Defense, and will include self-defense, distraction, and awareness tactics. Girls and women ages 12+ are encouraged to attend.
The event will be held on Thursday, March 12th from 6—9:00 pm at the Community Christian Church in Plainfield, 24035 Riverwalk Court.
“This event will teach women how to protect themselves in times of need,” said Batinick. “The goal is to help women be in the best position possible to ensure their safety. Unfortunately, incidents can happen when you least expect it, and this class is a great starting point to be prepared for those circumstances.”
While the class is free, any donations collected will be given to Women at Risk International (WAR Intl), an organization that fights against human trafficking, rehabilitates victims and gives a voice to those who have been oppressed.
RSVP to Rep. Batinick’s event by calling his district office at 815-254-0000 or emailing at firstname.lastname@example.org.
