Rep. Batinick to Host 2021 Recycle & Shredding Event

Plainfield – State Representative Mark Batinick (R-Plainfield) announced he will host a Recycling and Shredding Event on Saturday, April 24th, 2021 from 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. The event will take place at Holy Family Church in Shorewood.

“I’m looking forward to a safe event where 97th District constituents can take advantage of bulk recycling and shredding important documents,” Rep. Batinick said. “I am glad to be joining local organizations to provide this opportunity for our communities while implementing social distancing and masking to protect participants.”

Holy Family Church is located at 600 Brook Forest Ave. in Shorewood. Those attending the event must enter off of Route 59 only.

Participating with Rep. Batinick are the American Legion Post 13, the Shorewood Police Department, Paper Tiger, Working Bikes, and the Will County Habitat for Humanity.

Those interested in recycling items can bring electronics (no TV’s or monitors), prescription drugs (no needles or liquids), bicycles, flags, building materials, and more. A full list of acceptable and non-acceptable items can be found online at:

Individuals interested in free document shredding can bring a maximum of two grocery bags of documents. The truck will be available until full.

Masks and social distancing will be required and brochures will be available on state programs.
